Established in 1998, The Flat Cat Gallery present a changing exhibitions of contemporary art, ceramics, sculptures and jewellery. The workshop of Tim Stead furniture also enhances the art gallery with selected pieces. Artists from around the Scottish Borders and other parts of Scotland and the North of England exhibit frequently - adding to a veritable rich mix of artistic talent.

The Flat Cat Gallery sits in the heart of the pretty Scottish Borders town of Lauder on the A68, one of the main routes connecting Southern Scotland with the North of England. The centre of Edinburgh is within 40 minutes drive from the art gallery's location. Travelling from Edinburgh, the Royal Burgh of Lauder is 3 miles south of the Carfraemill roundabout.

The art gallery also offers a popular coffee shop plus tasty soup, filling baguettes, excellent refreshments and wicked cakes. Just what the visitor needs after or before a day walking or exploring other outdoor pursuits situated within the local rolling countryside - or after an interesting meander through the historic Thirlestane Castle now one of the finest Scottish country mansions.
