| Established in 1998, The Flat
Cat Gallery present a changing exhibitions of contemporary
art, ceramics, sculptures and jewellery. The workshop
of Tim Stead furniture also enhances the art gallery with
selected pieces. Artists from
around the Scottish Borders and other parts of Scotland
and the North of England exhibit frequently - adding to
a veritable rich mix of artistic talent.
The Flat Cat Gallery sits in the heart of the pretty
Scottish Borders town of Lauder on the A68, one of the
main routes connecting Southern Scotland with the North
of England. The centre of Edinburgh is within 40 minutes
drive from the art gallery's location. Travelling from
Edinburgh, the Royal Burgh of Lauder is 4 miles south
of the A68/A697 Carfraemill roundabout.
The Flat Cat art gallery also offers
a popular coffee shop
plus
tasty soup, filling baguettes, excellent refreshments and wicked cakes.
Just what the visitor needs after or during a day walking,
cycling or exploring the local rolling countryside - or after
an interesting meander through the historic Thirlestane
Castle now one of the finest Scottish country mansions.
